Summer at the cabin

This is the 3rd year in a row I've taken the kids up to the cabin for a week at the end of June. We typically get a few friends to come visit us while we are there. This time we stayed for a record 10 days! Justin came up on the weekend to spend time with us for the 4th of July festivities as well.

We made several trips to the little Show Low Bluff trail creek. We didn't have floaties, but we brought the foam snow sleds from the cabin and they served us well.

When Daisy is done swimming, she is DONE!

The weather was just so nice up there and outside with the kids in the evening I couldn't help but feel so blessed, grateful to my parents for building the cabin and wanting all of us to take advantage of it as much as possible.

My whole world (minus Justin) right here. Awesome picture.

When Justin was up on the weekend we went to the lake and playgrounds with our friends the Cotters.

Adaira just looked so beautiful in these pictures and the lighting was so great, I just had to take several.

Great lighting to catch the blues in these eyes.

It doesn't happen that often, but it's wonderful when these two share a little love with one another!

The lake had receaded so much this summer so there wasn't much to see but mud and dead stinky fish.

Picking up sticks and throwing them, what else?

The kids got on the dock and just dared Justin to splash them.

Show Low Lake, how had we never been to this place before? So pretty but really best for fishing since there are hooks everywhere on the ground, too dangerous for swimming/playing.

Sweet sweet picture of Daisy holding onto big sister for support.

After one group of friends left, the others arrived! Karen Andersen brought up her little crew and they filled our friend void for two days until family came up for the weekend. We loved having them!

Not sure what is happening with Dale in this picture.
Uncle David and Aunt Marisa put up this swing near the cabin, which provides us another short destination we can walk to when we are bored. Everyone loves a tree swing.

I certainly wouldn't want to forget to add Justin's creative swing he fashioned in the shed by tying a rope to the rafters and attaching the "seat". It was a fun time filled with lots of laughter at how redneck we really are.

I can't wait for next year!
