Ostrich Farm
With a free Saturday we decided to head down to the Ostrich Farm near Picacho. While they are cool birds we won't be getting ostriches any time soon. Dale absolutely loved the monster truck ride and asked to go back everyday for like 3 weeks straight after we got home.
Grandma Barbara came along. This is on the Monster Truck ride.
They call this fishing for ostriches. They take sections of oranges and place them on closepins attached to a PVC pipe and you feed the birds.
An ostrich egg is equal to about 2 dozen chicken eggs.
Happy kids
Moderately happy parents
A true monster truck. The tires were taller than all the kids.
Dale feeding deer.
Brighton feeding deer.
This is the goat penthouse. They have a conveyor belt to send food up to the goats.
Some of the ostriches would peck the food out of your hand so perfectly you would barely feel it. Others tried to eat your whole hand...
Lorikeets
Daisy wasn't sure she liked being that close to the birds
Dale wasn't quite sure how he felt about the bird on his hat.
It was such a fun outing, Dale was talking about the monster truck for days.
