Randomness in the Owens' household
Nothing much to post about this week, so here is a peak into our lives on a typical afternoon/evening at our house. With the weather cooling down, we've spent more time outside after dinner. It's not exactly exciting footage, it just shows the typical dynamic. Dale being sneaky and eventually getting hurt, Adaira being cute, loud and of course rude to Dale, Brighton not eating his dinner so he has to stuff it all in his mouth at once so he can come outside with us, etc...
All of the following pictures/videos are from the same afternoon and evening.
Later when it's getting closer to bedtime, the kids OF COURSE have a second wind and insist that we do any one (or all) of the following: pillow fight, dance, or play games. Lately we've been listening to an old mix CD full of old cowboy songs by Marty Robbins. He was actually from the Phoenix area, and his songs make me feel nostalgic because I have memories of being a little girl camping up at Kinder Springs and my Dad sitting in his chairs eating peanuts and listening to his radio playing a cassette of Marty Robbins. My dad's brother Bill, who died 10 years ago, also loved "Streets of Laredo" which is on our CD and plays in the video below. He always sang it and apparently he had it played at his wedding, and requested throughout his lifetime for it to be sung at his funeral (and a slightly tweaked version of it was sung by his son-in-law and grandsons). I love old cowboy music! It makes me think of what must have been simpler times way (and mean wwwaaaayyy) back in my dad's farming days in old Chandler.
Tonight Adaira wanted to dance and Brighton wanted to pillow fight, and Dale kept making the funniest 2 second "cheese" face every time he was on camera.
Adaira is such a camera hog, it's hilarious to me. If a camera is running, she is in front of it!
During these dance/play sessions we have a range of experiences. Everyone starts off happy, then someone gets hurt (as seen in the video with Brighton) or they start to fight over pillows or the attention of one of the parents, and then everyone is happy in another minute or two.

Dale loves his Daddy. He (and the rest of the kids) are always so excited to see him when he comes through the door.
Dancing kiddos...
That's all for this week!
