Haircuts and Dr. Visits
Well Brighton's hair was getting completely out of control (we hadn't had haircuts since the week before Dale was born, so it had been about 11wks) so last night I pulled out the clippers and the scissors and went to town on Brighton and Adaira. Brighton was first, and I left the top longer so he was pretty quick since I was just trimming the sides. Adaira is usually pretty easy since I trim it and then layer it a little in the back, but this time I accidentally cut the layers way to short and had to go with it. She ended up with a mushroom/Kate Gosselin type look but thankfully she's too young to care. It's pretty cute anyway, just not what I originally intended to do because I'm trying to grow her hair longer once I get her bangs to meet the rest of her hair.
Justin brought home what is known as the "FLETC Crud," which is basically a never-ending virus at the training center that continues to infect since there are new trainees coming in every week. Adaira and I didn't get it too bad, but Justin was hit hard and although Brighton wasn't too sick he developed a horrible cough. He's been home sick from school since Tuesday and hadn't gotten better so I took him to the Dr. today and the Dr. said he could hear the wheezing in his lungs and could also hear fluid at the base of his right lung. Great! So Brighton has antibiotics and an inhaler for his pneumonia, but luckily we caught it so early that it's not serious at all. I had them weigh Dale just for the heck of it and he is already 14lb 13oz (that was with his sleeper and diaper on so I'm guessing he's really about 14.5lbs).Pretty big for only 10.5wks old! In all this he has had a runny nose that interfears with his sleeping but it doesn't look like he's having any other trouble. Oh what fun we are having!
Here's a few cute pictures of Dale so he's not left out :)
Tonight I'm going to a R.S. meeting to take classes on Thanksgiving cooking and centerpieces. I'm going with a friend, Carrie, who is also an LDS FLETC wife and lives here on the island. She has daughters Brighton and Adaira's ages and we have already had some play dates. The daughter Brighton's age is probably a bigger Tomboy than Brighton so they are perfect together. She took them both last week for about 5 hours so I could try and get some sleep, and now we are rotating Saturday evenings so we can take turns having date nights with our husbands. We just started last Saturday and this Saturday is our night to go out, hooray! I'm so excited to have her here, but unfortunately they leave mid-January so I won't have her long, but we'll have fun while it lasts!

I'm glad you took him in to the drs and caught it early. He will be better real soon. That is so awesome you have a friend to rotate and help each other out.
