Adaira's Baptism
Adaira was baptized today. She had a beautiful white princess dress and loved wearing it. She happened to get baptized on her Uncle Dean's birthday, and since he is the bishop of our new ward, he presided over it. I played "When I Am Baptized" as the opening song and Aunt Margie was our chorister. Brighton said the opening prayer and then Grandpa Dale gave a talk on baptism and called Adaira a princess and told her to keep herself clean so she can go to heaven and be a princess in Heavenly Father's kingdom and bore his testimony to her. She was baptized by her Daddy and then we finished watching a video of her life. Brighton was in charge of pressing play on the video and he kept trying to conduct the meeting, it was so funny. He stood up there and said that once all the little kids sat back down he would start a video.
Grandma Barbara gave a talk on the Gift of the Holy Ghost and told several stories and had Adaira stand next to her and point out at the end of each story what point it was that the person in the story had listened to the spirit. She did an excellent job and got all of her answers right :)
Afterward she was confirmed a member of the church by her Dad, Grandpa's, and Uncles, and she gave each of them a hug when she was done. The primary president spoke for a few minutes, and then Uncle Dean spoke for a few minutes and reminded Adaira to always appreciate that she has the gospel, because sometimes we take it for granted when we are lucky enough to have been born into a family and grow up believing and learning it.
We took some pictures in her new white dress a few days before her baptism:
Adaira's take on it: "I felt really excited and a little nervous at first but after I got baptized a felt very happy and I felt the holy ghost a little. And now I feel SUPER GREAT!!!!!!!!"
