Adaira's Birthday
Since Brighton had such a fun time going to see the Dutton's for his birthday, Adaira did the same thing for her birthday.
It was a pretty crazy and late night (an extra 20 minutes late after getting all the autographs, then on the way home my cell phone was dying). We pulled back into the parking lot in Gilbert to meet the parents and it was at least 10:45.
Uncle Dale & Aunt Margie are special to Adaira. Adaira has been able to spend extra time with them playing with their grandson (her second cousin) Connor. They are the same age and get along really well. Connor spends a LOT of time with Margie and Adaira gets asked to come along frequently, and she LOVES being doted on by this "adoptive" grandma of hers. Every time she comes home from a sleepover she gets a little sad and teary and says she misses Aunt Margie. Whenever we see them Adaira is quick to run and give her a hug. She has a special love for them, as do I. They are both so attentive and interested in our kids, and we've joked more than once that we'd love for them to adopt us all. Shortly after Adaira's baptism they brought over a gift for her, which was several pictures of her and Connor in a frame. It was very thoughtful of them and she loves having her own pictures up on the shelf in her room here at the grandparents house.
Uncle Dale always gets down on his knees to talk to our kids. He is so much more deserving of time with grandkids than he's been allowed to have in his life.
Adaira, at 8 years old you are an amazing little girl. You might act a little too grown up and sassy for my liking at times, but when you want to turn on the sweetness you certainly can! You are SO helpful getting Dale or Daisy to bed when we ask you, and helping me clean or pretty much do anything else. Adaira you thrive on positive praise and love just hanging out with Justin or I alone if you can. School is still a breeze for you and you are always one of (if not the most) smartest kids in your class. Your best friend is a girl named Emma, but you also have tons of other friends. You, unlike your painfully shy mother at that age, make best friends wherever you go. You have been to three different schools in three years and you come home with at least a half dozen names of new friends every first day of school. You are kind, fun, and I think you just attracts friends. Your teachers have always adored you. I asked you if you would be willing to switch schools next year (for 3rd grade) just for the heck of it since you have been to a different school every year. Instead of saying anything about not wanting to leave her friends or starting over, you thought for about 3 seconds and said "okay!" You aren't afraid of anything!
Adaira you are very loved, and at the same time very worried about. Your dad and I want so much happiness for you and at this point you strive to be good and seek out uplifting things. We pray for you that this will continue and you will be able to enjoy your beautiful life and your beautiful self to the fullest by remaining true to what you know is right. Great things are in store for you sweetie! You are a blessing to our family, even amidst the cat/dog fighting with your brothers, we wouldn't trade you for the world! Happy Birthday!
During her class celebration on her birthday. Mom brought donut holes for everyone and Adaira loved getting to show Daisy off.
Dinner first at Denny's
This gaggle of girls was CRAZY!
They had to get autographs from everyone after the show. This is Benjamin Dutton, or "Julio," one of the stars and by far the funniest and probably most talented. It was a pretty crazy and late night (an extra 20 minutes late after getting all the autographs, then on the way home my cell phone was dying).
