Time Out For Women
I've been suffering quietly from a spiritual drought lately. Feeling somewhat numb, and if I'm honest with myself it's because a portion of my testimony (the part where you believe God loves and knows you individually and cares about you) is struggling. Add a dash of depression to it (not sure which preceded the other) and it's been a personal struggle. A friend from high school asked me a few months ago if I'd be interested in volunteering at TOFW in exchange for a free ticket. I thought "no big deal" but in the end kind of wished I had just purchased my own ticket so I could have been less busy during the event, but volunteering was my commitment to go, and maybe it wouldn't have happened otherwise. It was really good for me, something I really needed.
My good friend Kari had a ticket given to her by her husband but didn't have anyone to go with, so we paired up and split a roach motel room down in Phoenix. I had reserved seats as a volunteer and I had an extra seat I could save so we got great seats at least! I'm so glad I went, and I really need to start going every year. My Owens' sister in laws and mother in law, Joanna, also ended up going as a group. We were able to sit together for part of the day.

Our volunteer group. We took care of the food and backpack donations that were going to kids in need.
