Fun Times

I'm stealing this post from my sister in law, Angie, since she had all the pictures, but I wanted to document the fun for our family book too! I'm even stealing some of her words (with my own minor edits) because I'm feeling lazy and she already wrote the captions for some of these pictures. Thanks Angie!

Justin has a great Mother In Law! My mom is so fun to kid with. She and Justin are always "one upping" the other with pranks on each other. She always says that Justin is her favorite son in law, and he always retorts back in a sassy voice that he is her ONLY son in law.

These are Angie's words, I wasn't there that night. "One night, Marisa came to me and let me know that Justin had just called and was on his way over to hose Barbara down. We just needed to get her outside. David and Marisa led her outside and Justin had the hose ready as she walked out onto the grass."
And here's a photo after the soak down.

Another time the hose was involved, the kids were out playing with water as well. Justin gave Barbara the hose and swore that the only water he would use was a small yellow bucket full. He didn't mention that he had found an old #10 can of flour on the porch that he planned to douse her with after he threw some water on her. She knew that something wasn't right about it and it took a good 15 minutes to get her outside, but it sure made for a good show. (Audra's note: I have to admit I think Justin took it a little too far on this one, I made him feel guilty so he apologized) I love how playful she is and good natured. It makes family gatherings so much more enjoyable.
We love you Mom! (end of Angie's words).

Some of the innocent bystanders weren't too happy about getting wet.
This is Tristen, my nephew. He gives Dale a run for his money, I think. Every time I saw him he was wet or muddy.
I think this is a great picture of my mom. Shows her fun loving nature!
Cousin Kalvin, he's so sweet and smart!
Cousin Emerson. He, Tristen, & Dale are going to be a ball of trouble when they are older.
Do you think my mom has enough water stored on her back patio?
Brighton was following his Dad's example and trying to get Grandma wet. Every time Brighton sees my mom he always wants to squirt her with a squirt-gun or put ice down her shirt. Poor mom....
After getting doused with flour... Mean!

I do hope that by the time I'm my mom's age I can laugh about stuff like that. If someone would have done that to me I don't think I would have found it very funny. I think Justin just feels a special privilege when it comes to my mom because pranks are just part of the nature of their relationship.
Look at her ear!

You can see Brighton running away on this one on the left there. He was being a little sneaky so Grandma took the hose to him and I think Justin was sneaking up behind. Even after she got a can of flour poured on her.
 A second dose of flour.

Still smiling
Yuck! But what a good sport.

A little later (or earlier) that same week, we went over to Angie's parents home in  Mesa for baby William's blessing and a birthday party for Tristen. Justin why do you look photoshopped into this picture? It was a pretty busy night, and between our family and Angie's there were a lot of people and kids there. I think that might be why Duane almost gave William Tristen's name in his blessing...twice. It took him a moment to remember which kid he was blessing, lol. I think anyone would have slipped up trying to organize chaos right before a baby blessing.
Next they sang Happy Birthday to Tristen.

Then the fun started out front with the pinata!

All the kids lined up from youngest to oldest and each got a few swings.
After only a few kids, the pinata broke so Uncle Dean and Duane and Angie's Dad taped him up good.
Looking at them laughing in this picture and I can totally hear their laughs in my head...

Dale shut himself in the screen door and thought he was so sneaky until he and I both realized it was locked, then he started to worry and called for help. Later on he thought it was a game and kept doing it, but the first time around he was not happy!

After all the kids had a turn in hitting the pinata, Duane took a good whack to break the duck tape.

Look at all those kids examining their candy loot! Dean's son, Riggs, is at the left next to Adaira.

I really love this picture of my brothers. This is something that I see a lot when they get together: laughing. I really enjoy being around all of them!
Thanks Angie for posting all these on your blog so I could steal them!

I just love our family get togethers! It was a pretty crazy day there at my parents house (and it wasn't even my house that I had to clean up!).
