Random Fun Around the House

I haven't been taking nearly as many pictures since Brighton and Adaira started school. I feel so guilty! Here are a few random fun things to document:

Dale usually hangs out in the bathroom causing trouble when I am getting ready in the mornings after Brighton and Adaira are off to school. This morning he was actually being good and not trying to eat or smear anything! He crawled up to Justin's vanity and was entertaining himself by looking at himself in the mirror with Justin's hat and sunglasses on. This kid is just too cute.

Decides he needs a little drink...

Sitting precariously close to the edge but doesn't seem to mind...

We picked up this stuff called "H2Goo" in Victoria, B.C. when we were on our Alaska cruise. You add it to water and it turns the water into this jelly goo. When the kids are done playing, you add another bag of product to turn the goo back into water. I think we filled the tub up with a little too much water because the goo never fully became a gel, but it did start to get thick enough that the kids had fun playing in it.
Yes Dale is naked but the other kids have swimsuits on...
The consistency was like the silica stuff that you find in a really wet diaper... Adaira started dumping a whole bunch of it down her swimsuit. The water would drain out but the gel would stay in. It gave her a great big belly all the way around!
It looked pretty gross when she stood up!  It was also nasty scooping all that gunk out of her swimsuit and trying to force it out the bottom...

Just wanted to document my 32 week belly. I've gained 10lbs so far from my pre-pregnancy weight, which isn't much to brag about because my pre-pregnancy weight was 10lbs heavier than I should have been anyway, so in reality it's like I've gained 20lbs. (I'm pretty sure I was losing just as much weight as the baby was adding during the first trimester which was why even though my belly was growing my weight wasn't changing). Overall I'm trying to remind Justin to get out the camera more often so I can have a few more pictures of my pregnant self to remember since this will be our last baby. It's kind of surreal to remind myself that this is the last time I'll be ever be pregnant... I've come to terms with the fact that I only want four children, but at the same time I have a hard time letting go and thinking "Okay, this is the last time I'll be feeling a baby move inside me" or that it will be the last time I will give birth (which once the epidural kicks in is just an amazing event that I look forward to). I'm fortunate enough to have a husband that finds my pregnant belly attractive, so he's trying to enjoy it while he can too :-)

We took two families from our ward up to the cabin this last weekend. It was kind of a mad house with 11 kids ranging in age from 2yrs-10yrs running around but the kids had a marvelous time having so many playmates up there. Other than watching out for Dale, Justin and I hardly had to be parents the whole weekend! Brighton and Adaira fought less because they had someone other than each other to play with, and they all spent most of their time outside working on their fort.
The tractor was a popular attraction for all the younger ones...
Justin woke up Saturday morning and decided he would install the fire pit (a big concrete pipe that we've had up there for a few years). He figured he'd dig a quick hole and be done within an hour. He didn't count on the clay soil being so hard and even with the help of one of our friends it still took them a good three hours to dig it.

Inside the fort, in front of the "potty" area (behind the board)....Later on in the day Brighton started running to the cabin to get some toilet paper so they could poop out at the fort. I told him ABSOLUTELY NO POOPING out there...
You like their little fire pit right in the middle of the fort? They wanted to light it but we had to explain how a fire in the middle of a wooden fort with a wooden roof was not a good idea.
All of the contractors....

It's just so easy to get pictures of Dale. All he has to do is be his cute little self and I just want to snap away with the camera.

Here's the one picture of me on this trip.

After the work of installing the concrete pipe for the fire pit was done, Justin entertained all the kids for about 30 minutes taking them on rides in the tractor bucket around the cabin.

Cute little girls...

The older kids got to ride up high in the air.

We had a great weekend. It's more satisfying when you know your kids are having fun, even though the house is alive and buzzing with the sound of little feet and voices by 5:30-6am every morning. It was fun to have adult time and have the kids use some of their own creativity to entertain themselves.

Audra,
As always I love reading your blog. We might be moving to Chandler! We are moving and already have accepted and offer on this house--we found a house today that we love, but I want to talk to a Chandler resident for info. I don't have your number, or if I do it's too hard to find.:) Anyway, my cell number is (480) 529-5962 and if you could call me tomorrow that would be AWESOME! Thanks!

I was wondering how well that H2Goo worked . It looks like it was a lot of fun for the kids. I think we will order some on Ebay . I love the shadow pic of you in Show Low . For the life of me I couldn't figure out what it was ... then it all seemed to come together. My gosh the kids really put a lot more work into their fort . It looks great with the added new features.
