We've Been Busy...

The last two months have been nonstop work for Justin and I. The final month in Georgia we agreed to finish the basement to rent it out for a few years to my friend Frances (we aren't using it anyway since it isn't finished, so why not finish it and rent it and have it paid for?). I got the framers, plumbers and electricians going before Justin got home, and once he got home he helped finish things up to get ready for drywall. We had a week break waiting for drywall/texture to be done but since then it has consumed all our free time and weekends. We are so excited to be almost done! Paint is done (other than touch ups which I'll do in a few days after all doors are installed), doors are all almost in, fans, lights, etc. are in. Carpet is coming late next week and Justin will be working on finishing up the kitchen/bathroom plumbing next week, WOO HOO! Then we can have our lives back, until the next project that is...

This is the open room after coming down the stairs and looking left (bedrooms are to the right)

Little kitchenette (I also bought an island with a drop-leaf and wheels to add more workspace, but it can be rolled out of the way when we aren't using it). The door to the left exits to the exterior stairs. Kinda wish I would've gone with dark cabinets now that I'm in love with my trim...too late now!

Closets in one of the bedrooms. I can't say enough how in love I am with our chocolate colored trim. I wish I would have done it upstairs!

Little open space under the stairs for the kids to have fun with. The opening goes into the small bedroom, the angle I took the picture from is from the doorway to the small bathroom (this bathroom is right off the future "theater-aka in our dreams when we have enough money-room" and I figured one day that room might be used for guests so I wanted a little closet off bathroom to put a closet rod in (the theater room doesn't have a closet).

Angle looking toward the stairs (not visible but on the far wall straight ahead in the middle of this pic.

Window bench in the bedroom.

Countdown has begun! We hope to be done by next weekend! I'll post final pictures then.
