And Life is Beautiful... I'm going to miss this (a baby sleeping on my chest that is, not the being tired myself part)... Miss Daisy began sleeping like a champ just after her four month birthday (almost a month ago, I'm behind!). I put her down around 7:30pm, nurse her around 10:30, and she sleeps until I wake her up just after 7am. Sometimes I let her sleep until 8am. I am loving life again! Daisy continues to be a wonderfully sweet and easy caboose for my little family. I love going in her room to wake her up and seeing her light up and smile as she starts kicking and moving around with quick little squirrel-like speed. She is a lot of fun and we just love her! It's funny that she still loves Dale the most. All he has to do is look at her for a split second and she is laughing and trying to get his attention...but then he just ignores her. Daisy is rolling across rooms at this point and can sit on her own for just a few seconds. She'll be five months old in jus...

Brighton's Baptism March 17th, 2012 "I knew what I was doing was right because it's what Jesus did and I was following his example" - Brighton It was a crazy day, but still a very special day having Brighton baptized. We shared his baptism with another family in the ward and it was a pretty tight (and stressful) event. We didn't arrive early enough to get everything set up as far as the movie slideshow goes, and I forgot to attach the speakers until it was time to actually play the movie, and then we'd forgotten an extension cord and the speaker wire wasn't long enough to reach the wall outlet so the speaker had to sit on the floor between the 2nd and 3rd row, which probably wouldn't have stressed me out so much if the room hadn't been jam-packed with over 60+ people, over half of whom I didn't know. It was a cute slideshow, see for yourself (I cut out the pictures of the other child) I forgot our camera as well and really wanted to ...
Brighton Turns 8! Brighton turned 8 on March 9th. Do I really have an 8 year old? Jeesh! His birthday was on a Friday and we had his party the next day on Saturday. He had a party at our house with five of his friends. I made his cake after seeing it on Pinterest. It was so easy to make! Unfortunately I was one Kit Kat bar short (I thought 8 bars would do the trick, but it didn't) so the Kit Kats on the sides are spaced a little more than they were supposed to be. It didn't matter though, the boys couldn't have been happier to not only get cake and ice cream on their plates, but also Kit Kats and M&Ms! We wanted to have all the boys eating outside, but the breeze kept putting out our candles. We moved inside for the song and candle blowout, then moved back outside... After having cake and ice cream at our house, we (okay Justin) took the (now WIRED!) boys to Jumpstreet, an indoor trampoline park. After burning off all their energy, they came home and Brighto...
Guess who is FOUR months old today? Our Miss Daisy is growing up so fast! I'm so much more aware of how fast it is going by as I try to sear these memories into my head in some effort to remember these sweet days when I no longer have a baby at home. Don't get me wrong, I think babies are hard and a lot of work and I don't get out of the house nearly as often as I want to, and I'm definitely not a baby person in general, but I am a MY BABY person. I love my little ones so much. I love that I'm ending my brood with such a sweet little girl like Daisy. She is so smiley, easy to please, easy to calm, and just EASY. The only thing she hates to do is sleep, and if I wasn't so determined to have her on a healthy sleep schedule we would probably have far fewer tantrums in that area as well. Even now she still wakes me up at least once a night. I put her to bed between 7:30-8pm and nurse her again between 10-11pm before I go to bed, and she typical wakes up between 4...
Rambo! We brought this big boy home last Saturday. He comes from a breeder out of Maricopa and just hit his year birthday on Valentine's Day. Our ewes should be ready to breed within the next month or so (hard to believe because they are so petite) and Rambo is ready to breed now, so let the good times roll out there in the stall I guess...
Valentine's Day I don't have a bunch of pictures to document this day, but I wanted to note how incredibly thoughtful Justin is. I pretty much handle all the finances in our home and Justin rarely really knows what is going on with our money. Because of that, it's hard for him to surprise me with anything because I'm always checking our bank and credit card accounts almost daily. We also have a budget spreadsheet that I update every month so I know how much we can spend or put into savings. This month we had extra expenses for fruit trees, the kids lunch money accounts, Home Depot (for gardening and around the yard project stuff), and a splurge I shouldn't have made for some bedding. We were already over budget and I told Justin this and I really didn't want to spend money for Valentine's Day. I ended up buying Justin a pretty affordable electric knife online (of course not in time for it to get here on Valentine's Day, I'm so lame...) and figured I...
A weekend alone...ALMOST! Last weekend Justin decided to take Brighton, Adaira & Dale up to Seligman to visit his parents and give me a sweet semi-break with just this sweet thing at home: It was so nice and quiet. Honestly any time I don't have to chase Dale around the house to keep him from causing one disaster after another, it is a relaxing time! Unfortunately a new workout that Justin and I started about a week and a half earlier had caused a bulging disc in my back (which I ignored and continued working out, only making the back pain worse and worse until I finally realized what it was) and I could hardly do anything that involved bending over all weekend. It hurts just to pick up Daisy out of her bassinet! So I had plans to get a lot more cleaning done than I actually did because I was laying down on the couch most of the time. Regardless of that misfortune, I was happy for a break, and the kids had a great time up on the ranch. A few of their favorites: Sm...
