A weekend alone...ALMOST!

Last weekend Justin decided to take Brighton, Adaira & Dale up to Seligman to visit his parents and give me a sweet semi-break with just this sweet thing at home:

It was so nice and quiet. Honestly any time I don't have to chase Dale around the house to keep him from causing one disaster after another, it is a relaxing time! Unfortunately a new workout that Justin and I started about a week and a half earlier had caused a bulging disc in my back (which I ignored and continued working out, only making the back pain worse and worse until I finally realized what it was) and I could hardly do anything that involved bending over all weekend. It hurts just to pick up Daisy out of her bassinet! So I had plans to get a lot more cleaning done than I actually did because I was laying down on the couch most of the time. Regardless of that misfortune, I was happy for a break, and the kids had a great time up on the ranch.

A few of their favorites:

Smashing cans with the tractor

Playing Twister...

And by far their most favorite activity was riding around in the "Tryx"  (pronounced T-Rex) that Grandpa and Grandma bought recently.
They tell me they drove to a radio tower and "saved a lot of gas by going down the hill in neutral with the engine off"

Brighton says they also cut down a tree, but forgot to say "TIMBEEERRR!"
They have a great time and Brighton says that the next time he goes up he wants to stay for a week! That's fine with this mom right here...

Everyone had just gotten home as Daisy and I came home from church on Sunday. Later on I was taking some pictures with her (I love her expression in this picture)
and the kids jumped in to do their goofy faces...
This is Dale saying "Cheese" ha ha...

Is it sad that the weekend went by way too quickly with all the noisemakers gone? Even so, I'm so grateful to Justin for taking them up there. He has the Ragnar Relay Race in two weeks and I'll be alone with the kids all weekend so he's just paying me back ahead of time...
