Ski trip
Squeezed in one more ski trip in February
Near the end of February, the White Mountains got an awesome snow storm, and we worried we wouldn't be able to get the kids out skiing again this season if we didn't go, so Justin watched the younger two at home and I took Brighton and Adaira skiing. We had such a good time, and WOW how easy is it to only have older kids to manage. Haven't experienced that in a long time, maybe ever. So nice and low stress. We had a great trip. They both skied great, were good sports when they fell (poor Adaira had quite a few wipeouts, and after each one she cried that her face was frozen and she wanted to go home, but I got her up again and by the time we were down the mountain she was ready to keep going.)All bundled up! We were ready for anything, turned out to be a pretty mild day.
Brighton coming nice and steady. Yeah right, he's a speed demon. He kept pushing Adaira to race him and they would go straight down the hill, no snowplowing at all. These two are way too inexperienced to be going that fast. I'm yelling behind them, going pretty darn fast myself, telling them to practice going side to side and slowing themselves and to stay in control. Did they listen? Of course not. Hence the nasty wipeouts they both had. That was pretty much the theme of our day.
Our frozen faces! Both of them feel asleep on the 45min drive back to the cabin.
Lots of snow back at the cabin while we were there. Super cold though! Adaira went sledding with her cousins for a while but came in miserable and frozen. She didn't want to go back out with us when I took Brighton out for a spin behind the quad.
Such a pretty landscape. Best viewed behind a glass window next to a warm fireplace if you ask me.
It was so much colder on this day than the day before when we went skiing. I was bundled up and still freezing.
Beautiful!
It was a fun weekend hanging out with Dean & Don. None of us had spouses up there and I think my bros tend to be a little more laid back without their wives around to keep them in line. We played a lot of cards and had a lot of laughs watching funny Ed Bassmaster youtube videos and other funny programs. Dean was stinking out my Dad during cards, I grabbed the camera when my Dad covered his face with the curtain to filter the air, HAHA!
