Before I forget to mention it...
The day after Thanksgiving we took a day trip to the Okeefenokee Swamp Park here in Georgia. It was about 1.5hrs away and a miserable car ride with Dale, but it was definitely something you only see in the South and our friends were going so we decided to go. It's 700 square miles of swamp reserve land and they have lots of wildlife, but the main exhibit are the gators. They have alligators roaming free (meaning zero fence between gators & visitors) but we really didn't get close to any since they choose to keep their distance. The area had a little train ride around part of the park, as well as a few exhibits with reptiles and black bears. They had a wildlife show with the guy below teaching us about different snakes and about gators. He doesn't look it, but he was Native American from a local tribe there and was hard to understand! He was good to interact with the audience and let people touch the baby alligator here. I think he said this one was about 3-6 months old. Brighton did not volunteer for this picture, the guy called him to the front...Poor Brighton had turned around and told us before this picture that he didn't want to touch any of those animals. Does having them sit on your head count?!

Brighton couldn't have been less thrilled about the opportunity to have an alligator on his head...

Surprisingly, Brighton didn't want anything to do with the reptiles and snakes the guy was showing us, but Adaira kept leaning over and telling us "Dad I want to touch them!" Brighton was on the first row with a friend and Adaira was on the second row with us. She went up and had Brighton scoot over in his chair so she could be closer to the action.
"Dad, I don't want to touch it..."
Watch out for them gators!
